PAGANI HUAYRA

The new central monocoque on the Pagani Huayra is an entirely new design made from carbontitanium
Mercedes-AMG provides the heart for the Pagani Huayra. The 60 degree 12 cylinder turbocharged engine with a displacement of 5980 cm3 has been developed not just to meet the strictest technical and quality requirements, but also to give the car its many face The calm and harmony of driving one of the world's most refined GT car is interrupted when the driver calls upon the Pagani Huayra to unleash its 700 horsepower and 1000 Nm of torque. The turbos have been studied to offer immediate response to the slightest throttle input, giving the driver full control over the engine at any rpm and preventing unwanted delays in the delivery of power.

The M158 engine is homologated to meet the strictest environmental regulations, EU5 and LEV2. Despite the increase of power compared to the other Mercedes-AMG V12 engines developed for Pagani, CO2 emissions as well as the fuel consumption have been reduced, to make the Pagani Huayra class leading amongst 12 cylinder sports cars with values that are respective of much smaller vehicles in the market. The two stage fuel supply system features two microprocessor controlled pumps feeding fuel to the engine with the second pump only activated when necessary, thus reducing the energy required to run the fuel pumps and eliminates the waste of excessive fuel being transported and heated in the fuel lines. This efficiency combined with a large 85 liter fuel tank ensure Pagani Huayra's grand touring ability.

As a reminder, the Huayra is powered by a naturally aspirated, twin-turbocharged V12 engine that delivers a massive 700 HP and 730 lbs-ft of torque. This output is more than enough to sprint the car from 0 to 60 mph in just 3 seconds and up to a top speed of 230 mph(370 KMPH).

Engineers manage to stiffen the aging VH platform by around 25 percent, though forward thrust still comes from the tried-and-true 6.0-liter V12 with 565 horsepower and 457 pound-feet of torque on tap. Aston Martin says the 2013 Vanquish is good for 0-60 sprints in the 4.1-second range and hitting a top speed of 285 kmph regardless of whether the buyer opts for the 2+2 or 2+0 seating configuration.

LAMBORGHINI SESTO ELEMENTO

27. LAMBORGHINI SESTO ELEMENTO  2013

Lamborghini's Sesto Elemento concept car, unveiled at the 2010 Paris Motor Show, will go into production at a price of about $2.2 million, the automaker has announced.
Only 20 will be built but there's one thing you should know before you sign up for yours. You won't be able to drive it on the street
The production car will be virtually identical to the concept, which means it won't have airbags or other safety equipment required for legal use on roads in the U.S. or Europe. This car is strictly for use on a track.
Powered by a 570 horsepower V10 engine, the Sesto Elemento is made almost entirely from lightweight but very expensive carbon fiber. The body, its wheels and part of the suspension system are made from carbon fiber. The car weighs about 2,200 pounds, which is less than a Honda Fit subcompact.
Lamborghini boasts that the car can go from zero to 60 miles an hour in just 2.6 seconds  and a top speed of 350 kmph(expected).

CORVETTE ZR1 VS LAMBORGHINI

CHEVROLET CORVETTE ZR1

28. CHEVROLET CORVETTE ZR1

The 2012 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Centennial Edition has already made its debut but apparently there are a host of other upgrades planned for the 2012 model year that will be applied to the rest of the Corvette range.

The information was revealed by a dealer source who spoke recently with Inside Line. The source revealed that both the 2012 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 supercar and Z06 will be receiving new performance packs for 2012, including a ‘High Performance’ package for the ZR1 and a new ‘Z07 Ultimate Performance’ package for the Z06.

The ZR1’s High Performance package is said to feature black cup-style aluminum wheels measuring 19-inches up front and 20-inches in the rear, as well as Michelin PS Cup tires and a six-speed manual transmission.

The Z06’s Z07 Ultimate Performance package, meanwhile, is said to get Performance Traction Management (previously a ZR1 exclusive), Michelin PS Cup tires, black cup-style aluminum wheels as well, Magnetic Selective Ride Control and Brembo carbon ceramic brakes.

Finally, expect to see a new ‘Technology’ package featuring a Bose premium sound system, a head-up-display, Bluetooth and USB connectivity and satellite navigation. Carlisle Blue Metallic is also being added to the Corvette’s color palette and the Corvette Convertible should also be available with a new blue soft-top roof.

It sounds like Chevrolet’s updates to the Corvette range should keep buyers happy until its successor, the C7, drops by sometime next year. Corvette Zr1 can hit a top speed of  330 kmph.

LAMBORGHINI DIABLO

29. LAMBORGHINI DIABLO

Lamborghini began developing the Diablo in 1989 as a replacement for the Countach model, introducing it for sale on January 21, 1991 at a base price of USD $240,000. Power came from a 5.7 litre, 48 valve version of the legendary Lamborghini V12 featuring dual overhead cams and computer-controlled multi-point fuel injection, producing 492 horsepower (367 kW) and 427 foot-pounds (579 N·m) of torque. The vehicle could reach 60 mph in slightly over 4 seconds, with a top speed of 202 miles per hour (325 km/h). As in the Countach, the Diablo was rear wheel drive and the engine was mid-mounted to aid its weight balance.

ASTON MARTIN DB9

31. ASTON MARTIN DB9

One of the most beautiful cars of recent years, the DB9 is another reason to put an Aston Martin at the top of your lottery wish list.
Debuting in 2003, it was the first Aston to use the company's current aluminium platform, and suffered somewhat in the execution for pioneering this technology. It has improved over the years - a stronger behind-dash crossbrace in 2009 was one of many small ongoing improvements - but the DB9 is a less convincing package than the newer, cheaper Vantage. Its ride can get bouncy - despite new-for-2011 switchable adaptive dampers - and refinement is slightly weak for a high-speed Grand Tourer. Despite this the DB9 makes a great GT and a fine Aston, even if Jaguar's XKR is more accomplished.
The lavishly upholstered cabin combines pleasingly modern architecture with traditional materials, but some of its detail design is ageing, and the old-school sat nav is a struggle to master. It's a pity that Aston didn't tackle this with its mild 2011 model year make-over - the new adaptive dampers are the only alteration of substance. A revised front bumper, reprofiled sills and new lamp designs account for most of the rest of the changes.
The DB9's driving position is good and features plenty of adjustment, taller drivers being accommodated with relative ease. The rear seats are best reserved for luggage, but boot capacity is good for a car in this class.
Performance comes from a mighty 5.9-litre V12 engine mustering 470bhp, and it provides enough urge to propel the DB9 from 0-62 mph in 4.8 thunderous seconds and on to a top speed of 190mph. You must use the throttle and the gearbox decisively if you're to get the best from the car, which can be had with a conventional six-speed transmission or an excellent six-speed automatic. Most DB9s come with this option, which combines smooth gear-changing with quick-acting - and well-placed - paddle-shifts.
Dynamically, the DB9 combines excellent high-speed stability with keen, well-balanced cornering response, although it doesn't quite have the agility of mid-engined supercars, the rear-engined Porsche 911 or even Jaguar's conceptually similar front-engine, rear-drive XKR. Ride quality can turn curiously bouncy over rougher road surfaces and a surprising amount of road noise finds its way into the cabin on anything other than ultra-smooth tarmac.
The Volante cabriolet features a brilliant hood, but its svelte glamour is sometimes undermined by body shake over bumps. Yet despite its flaws the velvet muscle of the mighty coupe has compelling allure - and impressively, its character is distinctly different from the sportier Vantage, despite the two sharing much core hardware.

PORSCHE 9FF 997

35. PORSCHE 9FF 997 BT-2

  • German tuners 9ff have released a new tuning package for the Porsche GT2, advancing on their previous design.  The new 9ff BT2 (bi-turbo 2) gives the driver access to a ridiculous amount of power: 850 horsepower, and a maximum 920 Nm of torque.
  • Perhaps this will send American tuning company Switzer Performance back to the drawing board.
  • Although no details yet on engine modifications the BT2's numbers will get the Porsche fanboys salivating.  All that power gets the car from a standstill to 100 km/h in just 3.0 seconds.  200 km/h can be achieved in 8.7 seconds, while getting to 300 km/h takes 18.5 seconds.  Eventually, the car will hit its massive top speed of 386 km/h, or 240 mph.
  • If you want something that is even quicker, 9ff has you covered.  The company is willing to modify the gearing to increase acceleration, while decreasing the car's top speed.
  • Seen here honoring in its Gulf Livery glory, the car uses lightweight alloys and carbon fiber body panels to keep weight to a minimum.  New body panels include a hood, doors, and roof, all custom built for the project, and all using the original mounting points.  The company claims that the new Aero kit provides an additional 70 kg of downforce at the front, and 90 kilos more at the rear.
  • Those of you wanting to buy the new 9ff BT2 will have to fork over €285,000.  This amounts to €95,500 over the starting price for a GT2 direct from Porsche.

KOENIGSEGG CCR vs PORSCHE CARRERA

KOENIGSEGG CCR VS PORSCHE CARRERA

KOENIGSEGG CCR

36. KOENIGSEGG CCR

February the 28th 2005 - Driven by Loris Bicocchi, the Koenigsegg CCR broke the production road car speed record, achieving a new official top speed of 388 (387.87) km/h at Italy's Nardo Track. Thus, the CCR has broke the official McLaren F1 record of 386.7 km/h, which was set using a prototype called the XP5.
Koenigsegg say the CCR was 'technically standard', having tires, ride height, engine configuration, wheel geometries, gearbox, clutch, brakes, boost pressure matching the production car's specification. The record run was celebrated at the 2005 Geneva Motor Show, where both the record car, joined by a silver counterpart were on display. Since that time, the CCR has been approved for inclusion into the Guinness Book of World Records.
