KOENIGSEGG CCR vs PORSCHE CARRERA

KOENIGSEGG CCR VS PORSCHE CARRERA

KOENIGSEGG CCR

36. KOENIGSEGG CCR

February the 28th 2005 - Driven by Loris Bicocchi, the Koenigsegg CCR broke the production road car speed record, achieving a new official top speed of 388 (387.87) km/h at Italy's Nardo Track. Thus, the CCR has broke the official McLaren F1 record of 386.7 km/h, which was set using a prototype called the XP5.
Koenigsegg say the CCR was 'technically standard', having tires, ride height, engine configuration, wheel geometries, gearbox, clutch, brakes, boost pressure matching the production car's specification. The record run was celebrated at the 2005 Geneva Motor Show, where both the record car, joined by a silver counterpart were on display. Since that time, the CCR has been approved for inclusion into the Guinness Book of World Records.

PORSCHE RUF CTR3

37. PORSCHE RUF CTR3

The car itself has been transformed to support the new mid-engine design with galvanized steel used for the front structure and passenger compartment. The powertrain has been fixed in a space frame and modular tubular frame construction. Inside, the passenger compartment is reinforced with RUF’s Integrated Roll Cage.
Engine-wise, the twin-turbocharged powerplant features a pair of intercoolers – one for each turbo – placed in front of each rear wheel. Mated to the 3.8L flat-six is a transversely mounted sequential 6-speed transmission with a limited slip differential.
The CTR 3 also features a staggered set of 19-inch wheels in the front and 20-inch wheels in the rear, with the widebody fitting 335/30/20 tires in the back. Those interested in purchasing a CTR 3 can also have the interior customized to their liking with leather and Alcantara options.
All said and done, the CTR 3 weighs in at 3,086-lbs and with 750-hp, it has a power-to-weight ratio of 4.4-lbs per hp. That makes for a 0-62 mph time of just 3.2 seconds and a top speed of (380 KMPH)236-mph.

AUDI TT MTM BIMOTO

38. AUDI TT MTM BIMOTO

New heights for MTM guys. Their MTM Audi TT Bimoto reached a new top speed at the Papenburg race track: 393 km/h. And this is an official record!

The two engine MTM TT Bimoto was driven by Florian Guber. He is the champion of the Seat Supercopa 2006 and is currently driving in the Porsche Carrera Cup.

The MTM TT Bimoto record was established in the second run of two trails, under wind and partial rain and in temperatures around 20 degrees Centigrade.

This record was established as a trial run in preparation for the Nardo attempt to go beyond
the 400 km/h. This beast can hit 0-100kmph in3.1 seconds.

PORSCHE SPORTEC SPR1R

39.PORSCHE SPORTEC SPR1R

Standing still means moving backwards – and that is why it is tradition in the Sportec company to try and make perfection just that bit better. For this reason the 2010 SPR1 R now not only has a traction enhancing four-wheel drive but also several other extras suitable for a race track. Each wheel drive on the SPR1 R can produce 214.5 PS.
That equates to a not unsporty Golf GTI motorization per wheel and a total performance of a fantastic 858 PS.
The high revolution 3.6 litre flat twin engine with biturbo charge was in addition equipped with a Smooth Flow air intake with two fuel injection ducts per combustion chamber, titan connection rods, a valved exhaust system, a infinitely variable cam shaft, a carbon Ram Air intake system, a high performance charge-air cooler and two hybrid turbo chargers.
Each separate part of the motor electronics is calibrated on Sportec’s four-wheel drive engine test bench to the latest conditions. The results of this precision work on the SPR1 R make a top performance of 858 Ps at 8,200/min along with a gigantic torque of 880 NM possible – and that by just 4,800 revs.
With an optimised start-up high performance clutch, the new four-wheel drive and a limited slip differential the record-breaking performance is ideally brought onto the tarmac. A traction and launch control that can be individually adjusted by means of an “STS” touchscreen unit in the centre console ensures an optimum start.
Thus equipped the R-model achieves acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in only 3 seconds. The 200 km/h mark is reached by the motorised understatement in just 8.3 seconds and the 300 km/h limit in 18 seconds and a top speed of 380 kmph.

HTT LOCUS PLETHORE

40. HTT LOCUS PLETHORE

Car enthusiasts will surely want to take a look at the newest supercar on the scene - the HTT Plethore LC 750. It is made by Canada-based HTT Technologies and is the result of six years of development headed by company principle Luc Chartrand. It will make its world debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show but for now, let's view the images by Stephan Bauer, revealed from a VIP preview of the car before flying it to Germany. If you recall, a previous version had been shown at the 2007 Montreal Auto Show, back when it had the Locus Plethore nameplate. This production Plethore features a McLaren F1 style center driving position and a very wide wheelbase even in supercar standards. The chassis and body are made of carbon fiber, while the suspension is electronically adjustable.
HTT claims that the central driving position allows for a better feel of the car and increased "stability and driveability". Moreover, this allows for optional two seats to be fitted in the front, making it the world's first three-passenger supercar. Its visual trademark is the bat-like scissor doors that open at a wider than 90-degree angle.
Just by looking at the car, you'd know that it has impressive aerodynamic parts, integrating a racy front lip and a large rear diffuser, both with the role of increasing the down force. Powering the car is a 6.2-liter V8 developed in-house by HTT, with a 750 hp output. The Plethore LC 750 weighs 2535 lbs (1150 kgs). If you're interested, HTT has started taking orders for the supercar. More than 10 cars have been pre-sold by now. The price for the supercar is around $365,000 (or $395,000 CDN).

FERRARI 599 SA APERTA

41. FERRARI 599 SA APERTA

The SA APERTA  will stand as one of the most exclusive iterations in the production run of the 599. Only 80 examples of the roadster were produced, but for those thinking even that's not exclusive enough, NOVITEC ROSSO has announced an aftermarket customization package that takes the concept even further.

The German tuning house known for its octane-drenched stallions has fitted Ferrari's 6.0-liter V12 with a pair of superchargers that boosts output to 876 horsepower and 646 lb-ft of torque – a good 215 hp and 178 lb-ft over stock. FERRARI GTO 599 VS PORSCHE 911 TURBO

FERRARI GTO 599 VS PORSCHE 911 TURBO
RACING FEVER

FERRARI 599 GTO

43.FERRARI 599 GTO

The new Ferrari 599 GTO is an extreme V12 berlinetta developed to a specific performance-oriented brief. The Ferrari 599 GTO is, in fact, the company's fastest ever road car. It is an exclusive limited edition special which, in true Ferrari tradition, is a completely new concept, albeit inspired by a production car. In fact the Ferrari 599 GTO is based on the 599 XX the advanced experimental track car, and can be considered almost a road-going version.
The Ferrari 599 GTO is reserved for just 599 clients who seek the maximum expression of high-performance driving. The Ferrari 599 GTO benefits directly from the technological transfer from racing and set a record lap time at Fiorano in 1'24".
The Fiorano lap time provides just one indication of the potential of this car. Just as significant are the technical specifications - 670 hp in a 1495kg car represents a weight-to-power ratio of just 2.23 kg/hp, and ensures a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of just 3.35" as well as a top speed of over 335 km/h.It costs around 524000 $.
Fundamental to the GTO's performance is the innovative approach to chassis development which, for the first time on a production car, saw the integration between a handling set-up tuned for a level of responsiveness that is close to the limit and highly sophisticated electronic controls. The result is the almost complete absence of understeer and a truly communicative chassis.
As is Ferrari's policy, every new Ferrari features new solutions for a road car. Thus the Ferrari 599 GTO is equipped with the latest, second-generation carbon-ceramic brakes which are lighter and offer better performance, new aerodynamic innovations, such as the wheel doughnuts which increase aerodynamic efficiency as well as improve brake cooling, and the Supersport tyres developed by Michelin include a wider front tyre for greater roadholding. The driver-car interface is also new with the adoption of the Virtual Race Engineer (VRE) which provides the driver with instantaneous information on performance.

FERRARI F50 GT

48.FERRARI F50 GT
To celebrate Ferrari's golden anniversary, the F50 was released and sold as a limited    edition supercar. It followed the footsteps of the 288 GTO and F40 by focusing on motor       sports engineering with little concessions  for passenger comfort.
A highlight of the F50 was its rigidity. It had no front, rear or engine subframes and featured a solid mounted chassis, with little rubber in the suspension system. Attached directly to the central tub, the engine and transmission doubled as the rear support structure and held the rear suspension components.
With good aerodynamics and braking to complement its stiff chassis design, and having the necessary production figures to meet homologation requirements, it seemed only fitting for the F50 to continue the legacy of the F40 GTE. That is, contest the BPR Global GT Endurance Series, a precursor to FIA GT. Not surprisingly, Ferrari flirted with this idea and began a development of the F50 GT.
F50 GT chassis number 001 was sent to Micholelotti. They were the same company that assisted Ferrari in developing the F40 GT and the 333 SP prototype racers and were commissioned by Ferrari to modify the F50 body. Micholelotti removed the integrated rear wing and replaced it with a much larger adjustable unit sitting on a new flat deck. The front end was modified to feature much larger air apertures and a lower more pronounced front splitter. Other changes included a fixed roof with engine intake and a metal cover for the engine bay.
Ferrari worked on the engine and chassis of 001 to achieve a better power to weight ratio. They drastically reduced its weight to 1800 dry pounds and increased horsepower by 200 to reach 750 at 10500 rpm. To cope with the power, a sequential 6-speed transmission was introduced with a much stronger carbon clutch.
Other chassis improvements included a more adjustable suspension, carbon fiber disc brakes, twenty inch Speedline wheels, a massive rear diffuser and a much lower ride height. The interior received a gutting treatment, resulting in a single racing seat, concise digital display and many more engine mototronics, including a Magneti Marelli Compeition system.
Preliminary results around the Fiorano track lapped the F50 GT faster then the 333SP Le Mans prototype, albeit with a 4.0 liter engine in the 333.

This legend can push upto a speed of 378 kmph(235 mph)
 0-100 kmph in 2.9 seconds
 And priced approximately 1,000,000 $.

FERRARI FXX

2005 Ferrari FXX

49. FERRARI FXX

Considering the company's rich racing heritage it is no surprise that the competition potential of every new Ferrari sportscar is subject of heavy speculation. When the Ferrari Enzo was launched in 2002, the speculation was fed by a number of grainy pictures of a black racer looking not too dissimilar to the new supercar. However with the sport's governing bodies' moratorium on moving aerodynamics it was unlikely that the Enzo could be turned into a racer. Until this day there are still many questions surrounding the mysterious black car shown in the spy shots, but it could very well just have been a pre-production test bed.

Shortly after the Enzo's production finished early in 2004, Maserati revealed an ambitious racing program with a mid-engined V12 sportscar. Although this MC12 looked completely different, it was soon clear that its roots lay in the Enzo supercar produced by Maserati's parent company. Maserati had combined the potent Enzo chassis with a fixed aerodynamic body to create an elligible racer before building road going replicas for homologation purposes. This controversial scheme recalled the days of GT1 racing and the car was not accepted well by the governing bodies. Le Mans' ACO refused the car and the FIA only accepted it after some modifications were made. While some anticipated a Maserati walk-over, the forced alterations had slowed the cars down considerably, but it still racked up several victories in the FIA GT World Championship.

The FXX shares its carbonfibre chassis and greenhouse with the Enzo, but both the nose and tail were completely redesigned. The revised aerodynamics resulted in a downforce increase of 40%. To suit a particular track the angle of the rear spoiler can be adjusted by the driver. The biggest news was found under the large engine cover; a 6.2 litre version of the 6 litre engine found in the Enzo and MC12. Ferrari claims the engine produces at least 800 bhp and we have no reason to doubt that. The exhausts were re-routed and now exit right under the rear wings, swapping places with the tail lights. The engine is mated to a paddle operated semi-automatic gearbox that can change gears in a staggering 100 ms. Huge 19 inch alloy wheels were required to clear the specifically developed carbon ceramic break discs. Bridgestone provides a special 'Potenza Scuderia' slick tire for the FXX.

With a pice tag close to 2,000,000 $ this cool cat can hit a top speed of 370 kmph(230 mph)
 and 0-100 kmph(62 mph) in 2.6 sec.

PORSCHE RUF RT 12R

TOP 50 SPORTS CARS OF ALL TIME :

50. PORSCHE RUF RT 12R

PORSCHE   makes some amazingly capable and exciting machines.

Based on the PORSCHE 911 TURBO the Ruf Rt 12 R begins life with the stock 3.8-liter twin-turbo flat-six engine. That unit is good for 500 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque (516 lb-ft with the overboost function). After Ruf gets its mitts on the powerplant, output swells to 730 hp and 693 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired to Porsche's six-speed manual transmission and all-wheel-drive system. And if you're a rich lunatic, you can opt for rear-wheel drive.

Ruf also works its magic on the body of the Rt 12 R. Carbon fiber is applied to the front fenders, hood, luggage cover, seats and is available optionally on the roof. The side and rear windows are plastic instead of glass to further aid in the quest for lightness. This weight reduction, along with the massive increase in power, has helped Ruf claim an impressive 230 mph top speed for the Rt 12 R

With a price tag of 37000$ this cool car can hit a top speed of 370 kmph(230 mph) and 0-100 kmph(62 mph) in 3.2 seconds.
